Refresh rate fix

Hi, i just bought a Radeon 9800 non pro moded to 9800 Pro (Hercules)
I want to know if there is a refresh rate fix, cause when i change resolution the refresh is like 60hz.
EX: i use 1600*1200 @ 85Hz when i change the resolution and go back to 1600*1200 it's not 85Hz
Help please

iirc (its been awhile) for ATI just disable "Use DDC" under your monitor settings and it should lock the refresh rate to where you want it in games and out.
search http://www.rage3d.com forums, should be in there somewhere i'd thinkSmile

I'm on a nvidia-card box at the moment so I don't have the link on here but some versions of RadClocker in the modded Cat drivers that show up on here will allow refresh rate changes. I know it works because I can get my 9800 Pro to run at whatever refresh rate I want on my Sony GDM-F500R (usually 85hz at 1600x1200).
If anybody has a link can you please post it for those that want it? I can't get to my ATI box until tomorrow...

Try this...

I have an Nvidia card and this application works great for locking the proper settings for your monitor in the registry...

All my games were at 60hz also even when using the nvidia driver section for forcing the refresh - obviously it doesn't work...

Just download the reforce.zip and let it autodetect all your proper monitor settings then apply them and bingo they will be forced to use them and in every game - I use a refresh rate of 144hz with my Viewsonic 21" monitor at 1024x768 that's the highest it will go for that resolution and talk about the difference in games - you can turn off AA and AF because at that high of refresh the graphics are awesome.

Viewsonic is by far the best monitors for having insane refresh rates.

iirc the refresh lock in nvidia's control panel is only for D3D, kinda like if you go to dxdiag, and specify it under that.

so what i do is set my refresh rate in d3d (either via nvida's cp or dxdiag)
and run :

for opengl games

only reason i do it this way is i heard of probs with RefreshForce (the other util on the above url) and 5xxx and up drivers, that and sometimes it makes my tv out go a bit wonky... that and i juggle drivers like a mad man, and i get tired of having to reset my refresh rates with other utils... when i can just fire this one up.
