You are not gonna believe what I found!!!These are the 8500 SMOOTHVISION enabled drivers we have been waiting for. They will be officially announced tomorrow at Comdex. Someone jumped the gun and posted them for about 15 minutes earlier today......

Specific Improvements:
1-Nature performance has improved about 40-50% from 23 to 32FPS
2-Single Texturing fill-rate has been dramatically improved - 25 to 35% improvement
3-DOT3 Bump Mapping increased about 12%
4-Vertex Shader speeded by 10%
5-Pixel Shader speeded by 17-20%

Yeah, I just read the Comdex article on Tomshardware yesterday about these new ATI drivers. It's really incredible how the quality differs with that of the GF3 Ti500. Truly beautiful AA-effects with fast performance. I'm just sorry I bought myself the GF3 instead of listening to the guys at ATI. Well, maybe I'll try to get the Radeon 8500 after all. Who knows, but these benchies surely speak in favor of ATI.
