there are many subjects to cover for this. first of all i think for a gamer who wants to buy a new graphic card it should be 128Mb not 64 , but when we take a look at the 128mb version of the TI4200 it uses 4ns but the radeon 8500 128MB (retail) uses 3.6 and i have personally seen a 3.2ns version (with huge heat sinks) at pricewatch. Anyways i looked at some benchmarks at sharkyextreme with latest drivers for both cards comapring the 8500 64MB and ti4200 64mb and in all tests the 8500 beats the ti4200 at high resoltions (1024x768+) and in some the 8500 even wins in low resoltions. by the way many tests for the 8500 are not reliable as they use older drivers and show huge decreases in performance.

so what's your idea !

BBTTWW Ive now converted 2 hard core Gforce fans over to the Radeon family just by visual demonstration..screw the numbers lets put it on the screen

Geforce chipsets' arent that bad. Although i have to agree with you on 2d image quality, some cheaper nasty cards [such as sparkle] dont have as high quality 2d filters.

Personally, a lot of people who buy Geforce 4 ti4200's are going to overclock the card ASAP, getting them lots of 3dmarks. Having said that , 3dmarks are pretty overated, even if the ATI cards do well.

This is where ATI arent so good, as the performance in some area's is good and in others, not so good. All they need is some consistancy.

LE is crap eh? What about the LE from Soyo, which is clocked at 290/290? Sure it's not out yet, but even the beta LE from Soyo (at 280/280) beat up the original ATi Radeon 8500, not by much, but you can't say that the LE is crap :þ

and by the way, any ATi gfxcard is better than nVidiot hardware

Hi!

Just a tip for all nvidiots and Ati-fanboys, wherever someone calls you that, instead try to realise the truth, there is no spoon... naaaa just kidding, just enjoy the games on your videocard and dont envy someone who has a better setup. I just dont understand why some of you are flaming Nvidia or ATI owners. I personally live both videocards for their qualities. The most important thing is that you are happy with you videcard. You should use the card for cool games, not to get a few numbers out of a benchmark, so ya'll go out and play some good games like UT2003 soon and Warcraft 3

Thanks,
Freddy
