R9500 Pro

I want to buy an ATi Radeon 9500 Pro, and I saw an OEM version that I may buy. Is the OEM vs Retail is a big difference ? I know that some people say that the card is underclocked and all that stuff, but I don't really care if there's 4-5 less fps in a game. So... I want to know if the performance are about the same, or there's a major difference between the 2 versions.

Also, is the Sapphire card more performant than the original ATi or is there no major difference between these two ?

The other manufacturers (Sapphire for instance) sometimes add extra things to their cards (The most notable one being the water-cooled 9700 PRO they sold once) but I also hear they are a little more expensive, whether there are major additions or not. I think http://www.tomshardware.com had a test of many 9700 Pro's being sold about. If differences between the different 9700 Pro's weren't big, chances are the 9500 Pro's differences won't be big either...

what i've seen of OEM versuins they can be up to 25-50 mhz lower in clockspped, which is a significant performance drop over retail versions.
but if your getting it cheap, it might be worth the money anyways Smile
it would be relatively simple to check it, just plug it in and use any gfx OC program to see the current speeds.

that would be 270 mem ;P
easier to calculate with real mhz values.
but you seem to have a regular version. Smile

clocking

You should be able to set the clocking on the card yourself when you get it using a tool like rivatuner

Good information and a good website. Thanks for that. I might also get ATI Radeon 9500. Is that a good graphic card????? Is it better than GeForce FX 5200??? I might get either ATI Radeon 9500 or GeForce FX 5200. Which one is better in those graphic cards??? Please reply as soon as possible.
