Processor Upgrade Problems

Helllo i recently changed cpu's amd 3000 64 bit to a 3700 64 bit. The problem i'm having is booting my machine completly. If i use the abit default setting for my cpu save and exit boot up fails with a blue screen. If i move the clock speed down 1 tick it boots fine. So i was wondering what do i need to do to get my machine to the full extent of my processor speed. my motherboard is an abit kv8 pro with the latest bios applied. please help me out!! I'm trying to do all this without formatting and reloading windows xp pro.

thanks

mike

Well the user define im using right now is 204/66/33Mhz X11.5 Agp ratio is fixed @ 66Mhz

The setting that the processor is suppose to use is 204/66/33Mhz x 12. when i save and reboot it wont get into windows get a stop error....

is there any other settings i need to change to get my processor to the extent? what are some settings i can try to maybe step above there default cpu settings to overclock just a touch but not much?

also my memory timings are set to AUTO should i change to SPD or what? thanks for the help i gladly appreciate it alot man!

you should try by SPD ... what RAM do you have installed ... set your FSB to exactly 200 MHz and multi back to 12
I am sure you are haveing the same problems like I did have ...

does this fix it ?

btw when setting to SPD check the mem timings and compare em to your module any differences ? again what ram do you have ?
