Problem With AGP 4X

GA-6VM7-4E motherboard, VIA 694X AGPset, VT82C694X (VIA Apollo Pro 133A).
When i try to run my videocard (geforce mx 440) at 4X apg, it only runs at 2X agp. I have tried lots of things, installing Via 4in1, changing the AGP Aperture Size but nothing seems to work. I used Sandra Standard to check my agp port and it only came up with 1x, 2x agp, but in my BIOS setup it has agp 4X (which is selected) and in my motherboard user manual. Sad
If anyone knows anytging about this please help out?

Sounds like the driver, have you tried using a program like Rivatuner or NVHardpage both at http://www.guru3d.com to force the drivers to agp4? I think you can also do it in advanced display settings on most new Nvidia drivers.
