PowerDVD 4.0 and XP pro

I just installed powerDVD 4.0 on my PC, I'm using XP pro, and I get this error when I try to play a DVD.
The TV out port of your display card is not working properly.
(Detailed)
This copy protected disc can not be played when the TV out function is enabled.

The thing is, I have no TV out port on my video card. My video card is a Diamond S3 ( Savage 4 )

When I was using powerDVD 4.0 on this PC using 98se, It worked great.

When I install powerDVD 2.55 , It works ok, but the screen capture will not work.

How can I solve this problem ?

Thanks ... Tim

your problem really looks like a bug.
i've been using this application for a long time and i've never seen such an error message but try to get some infos on the powerdvd forums.

if you're not able to solve your problem with powerdvd, maybe you should try another application to read your dvds.

i heard windvd is a great tool to play dvds. Big Grin
you can find it here :

http://www.intervideo.com/

tell me if windvd is working on your computer : it will confirm that powerdvd contains a bug (maybe with your graphic card).

Re: PowerDVD 4.0 and XP pro

Tim,
I had the same problem, this is due to macrovision copyright on the dvd you are playing.
A way round is getting a program from http://www.dvdidle.com this will solve your problem.
