PhpBB vs. YaBB SE?

I am going to start a bulletin board on my website, and have decided to go with PHP as a language. It seems that the two (free) options to choose from are YaBB SE and PhpBB. Can anyone provide me with insight as to which one I should choose, or, if not one of these two, which one I should use? Reasons would be helpful too, rather than just opinions. Thanks muchly.

i believe YapBB SE is more efficient and fast than phpBB2, but i prefer phpBB2's look. depends on what you need, i guess.
