I had trouble getting into CS to test the average fps, but that turned out to be a conflict between Fraps and CS. Lost 26 points in 3DMark2001, but my game play is smoother and has a higher fps. Anistropy makes no difference in performance (Average of 1.3 fps difference on the HD tests in 3DMark2001.) Texture quality is not as good as the 29.80 drivers (They seem kind of blurry to me.).

CPU - AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz T-Bird processor
RAM - 512 MB PC133 SDRAM
OS - Windows ME
Tuner - RivaTuner
GPU - Visiontek Xtasy GeForce4 MX440 (280c/480m)
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-7ZX
3DMark2001 SE - 4968

Problem with Game Centering

I installed the new 30.82 driver and I had a problem with the screen center shifting to the left 2 inches during gameplay under DirectX. This caused me to lose two inches of the screen on the left side, making gameplay very annoying. I have a new Dell Dimension 8200 powering a Quadro 4 900XGL running Windows XP Pro. I reinstalled the 29.80 series and the problem went away. Gained 300 points in 3DMark 2001 with the 30.82, but SpecViewPerf results were the same as the 29.80. I am able to obtain over 106 fps in ProCDRS. Anyone know why the screen shift would occur?

Pakoe: the new driver resets your monitor, just like you pressing the Reset button. You'll just need to readjust the screen geometry.

I have a Hercules GeForce III. How come with every new driver I install I get worse performance? Using 3Dmark 2001 SE, 30.82 is a bit worse than 29.42. Both are a lot worse than 23.12 which I'm going back now.
I got 3dmark score of 6034 on 23.12 but 5397 on 30.82?

Am I alone in this problem or anybody else experiencing the same thing?

Thanks

Thanks for the help. This is the first driver to shift the screen like this, but the geometry fix worked great. The 30.82 gave me around 300 more points in 3DMark 2001 from 10443 to 10733 than the older 29.80. I'm running a Quadro 4 900XGL card on a Dell Dimension 8200, 2.2Ghz P4, 512Mb RDRAM. Looks to me like the 29.80 had a bit better image quality with anti-aliasing turned off. With the 4X 9-tap anti-aliasing turned on, the game proceeded to run perfectly smooth with both drivers. At 4X anti-aliasing, the 3DMark came to 8400 with the 30.82 and 7500 with the 29.80. This is a low drop in performance, most likely because the Quadro card has a hardware anti-aliasing chipset. I've seen a drop to around 5000 with the GeForce4 Ti4600 series.
