NVIDIA Registry Values for Win2K/XP

Here is a basic guide to setting Geforce options manually in Windows 2000 & XP. Most advanced users will already have this information but I don't believe it is widely available to users at all levels. It basically eliminates the need for tweaking programs such as RivaTuner or NVMax. This won't be everyone's cup of tea, some people like the convienience of tweakers. This is for the people who like doing things themselves. I'm not going to explain the whole deal to you as I don't have the time for that sort of adventure, but I shall get the journey started. No sense in taking all the fun out of it :-P. All you will need for this is 'REGEDIT' and an existing tweak utility. I used NVMax. First run REGEDIT, access the key - HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video

Inside this you may find many keys named like 'EFD274DF-GE....'etc
Only one of these is your active profile. The others are from previous driver installations, that's right, when you uninstall drivers they are not entirely deleted from the registry. Inside these should be 2 keys named '0000' & 'Video'. The '0000' key contains the values. The active profile should have another key inside the '0000' key called 'VolatileSettings'.

Okay, you will notice many familiar looking words like AGPFW, AGPSBA OGLMaxPCITexHeapSize etc..etc.. The values are mostly BINARY with a few DWORDS. The next step is self explanatory really, you take note of the various entries and their values then make changes with your tweak program. When you collapse and expand the '0000' key the changes will be plain to see. You can also fix the refresh rate issue in this key as well.

If you don't know what REGEDIT is...... Disregard the preceding messages.
