I'm getting ready to build a new box. I want to use an AMD proc. I have a new SB Audigy2 and WD 80gb hd with the 8mb buffer in unopened boxes. I have a spare Antec 550-watt tru-power p/s and a very nicely modded case for it. I'm tired of waiting for the Hammer proc to come out and want to build NOW. Seeing as some of the smartest people in the world use this board it seemed like a good idea to me to ask for some suggestions on building an ultimate, for the moment, gaming rig. I have XP Pro and 2K and want to use 2K as the o/s because of less bloat. I like the nforce2 chipset and think I will be going that way. Money being no object, what are the best components and tweaks to use? After I decide what to build based on the input I get here, I'm going to do it then benchmark it and post the results. What are your suggestions my friends?

Id definatly go for a
3000+ Barton then, being fastest in the AMD class, but then again theri is supposed to be the 3200+'s being released soon,

Nforce2 for sure man,
Ati Radeon 9700 - 9800, unless u wanna buy a FX Ultra, because directX9 will be put to use, no point in buying a dx8 vid card like mine,

get a gig of dual channel DDR ram, that'd own

Get Barton...although I, like NIKEMARINE, thought the 3200+ and 3500+ were coming rather soon...

You may want to get an FX Ultra or wait for the R350 as far as the GPU goes.

Definately get NForce2.

One gig of dual channel RAM can't hurt now can it ?
Get the fastest your board can handle...I think its PC3200 in the NForce2 case...
