I have the Audigy 1 and i just installed the new Beta Performance drivers.

They install without any problems, but when I goto listen to music on winamp, media player 9 or any other program I only get sound from the front left and right.

In windows setting i have 5.1 speakers enabled, and in the EAX Control panel for Speakers i have 5.1 with Bass Redirection On. But still cant get sound from the rears on music/video files.


In games they work fine, but the whole setup seems to be noticably softer. Any ideas?

I have the same problem with quad speakers.

These are not audigy1 drivers, they are hacked audigy2 drivers (hence Audigy1-2 being put in the topic?).

All of the hacked drivers have given this problem until you install the audigy2 software and turn on certain EAX enhancements to the sound.

btw if you have any semi-decent speakers (as most 5.1 systems are), bass redirection actually decreases the bass' quality a lot.

I have to have bass redirection on dont i? or else i dont hear nothing from my center or subwoofer?

These are Audigy1 drivers are they not? .381 the Audigy 2s are .383s. I got these right from Creatives website, are they still hacked?

Is there anyway to install Audigy2 software? everytime i try i get the ol' "cannot find audigy 2" blah blah blah

the betas arent the hacked ones, you are mistaking them with the new audigy2 drivers.

you want a little patching tool called ctcomp.exe to allow you to use the audigy 2 drivers on audigy 1. go to the driverheaven.net forum and search for a thread on the subject. it has links to lots of hacked drivers for audigy and guides on how to install on whatever card you have.(aud 1,sb live!).

Just wait until the finals are out. I've been waiting since December for an update so 8 weeks more won't bother me.
