Nero Wont Let Me Make SVCD :*(

Now i've split a movie in half (around 350meg) and then tried to make a SVCD using Nero (latest version). I've added the movie into that box and it says its within 700MB limit but I got 800MB CD's anyways.
Well after 3hours of encoding (avi film btw. DivX), everytime I put in CD when it asks for it, it says its not big enough. I've tried both my 700 and 800MB CD's but it wont work.
Ive never used the CD's but still wont work.
Is there a fix for this because it happens for both VCD and SVCD on ANY film.

If not, any suggestions for a program that burns SVCD's (especially SVCD's please) that you have used and is good...?

Ty in advance.

the problem is not nero ... the problem is DivX .... a DivX movie has to burned like a DataCD ... if you want to go (s)VCD ... Get a SVCD version of that film you want to burn OR reencode it as (s)vcd (.mpg)
to do so you can use http://www.tmpgenc.net/
BUT its not always that easy to ... cost a lot of time to get the right format AND good quality ... so if you got the chance to get a already-SVCD version get this and nevermind about coding ... if not get the tool make it an .mpg and then burn it with nero without any problem .... the .mpg file size can be up to 800 MB to fit on a 700MB CD

np Wink
ah what i forgot .... nero does work so long because nero reencodes the Divx .avi to a .mpg but this does not really work cus nero isn't made for this ... basically it could do it but in reality not ...

Not quite nero will burn a file to that size cd just that you have to let it know you have that size disk as i have 99min (903mb) cds.

go to File .... Preferences .... Expert Features

now it should have 74 min 00 sec 00 fm (i had to change that 74 to 99 ) to get it to burn on my 99min cds as (my LiteOn 52x24x52 cdrw only picks them up as 700mb disks so Nero just treats them as that their over burnt cds but they work fine in my samsung dvd player and in any pc

P.S also in the General , Tab u can move the red and yellow marks Tongue

what files do u use ??? to burn 99min CDRs .... ain't 800MB enough for one movie ...

btw who wonders why 800MB (S)VCD fit on a 700MB CD and normal data not ..... to protect the data on a CD there is written some "bonus" data on the CD so that the CD is not lost if there is a very little scratch on it .... so basically a 700MB DataCD also takes up 800MB 700 + 100 for error correction ....
.mpg video players do have their own error correction methode so there no data needed on CD so it can use the full CD space .... got that Tongue
