Having a problem with nero 6 when I go to burn cd dialog it says drive is in use when its not . its happened on a couple of version of nero 6 but on nero 5 its not a problem and burns fine.
any ideas on a fix ?

Check to make sure you dont have anything like Real player bubbling in the background, as well as your mp3 player having some disc writing/cd associated plugin loaded.

also try a clean reboot, then start nero up first before anything else..

Open up task manager and browse your process list - check that imapi.exe isn't already loaded. If it is kill it and relaunch Nero.

none of that seems to work. to be more specific it says drive is in use by another application. i tried turning the nero plugin off on wmp too.

maybe you have chosen the wrong recorder ?
goto prefs and check

You may have a problem with both nero 5 and 6 install, 6 may think 5 or another app is the prefered program. try uninstalling/reinstalling 6

my friend tells me to get a new burner as mine is pretty old going on 5 years so maybe this is the problem. maybe i shoud email ahead software about it .

as I see in a german forum you are not the only one ... seems to be real bug in nero 6 wait for new version ....

hehe .... and is it worth the upgrade ? .... not really ... the only difference I noticed up to now is that if you have to profiles open you got 2 entries in taskbar like office XP with 2 text documents ...

but the file browser still sucks ass .....
it does not save positions of detail categories .... and even more since nero 6
due it does not save positions i changed to horizontal layout for easy resize ... since nero6 the bug is introduced, that when you choose a saved profile it only arranges vertical ... the more funny thing ... in menu bar it show horizontal

THAT SUCKS !!! that was the most thing i hope they fix in nero 6 but ... it got worse ...

i just wanted it for the new interface which isnt that great its not too much of a improvement. I noticed now when i go to burn stuff it says drive in use:imapi or something but then continues on and burns.
now we just gotta bug em on the nero forums for a better file browser
