MY next upgrade AMD Opteron, Intel P5 or getting X-BOX ?

Looking at my rig listed below anybody will tell i need a Upgrade. But looking at the choices i have i m just not able to decide which should i opt for.

My sole goal is to be able to play any games at/above 75 FPS@ 1024*768 res. even with DirectX9 and its games are available.
I will start with AGP.

The graphic-card , AGP , whatever u call:-
Its the most imp part in our lives(OK rig). Its looks insane i have both Geforce 2 MX and Radeon 64mb (its another story). The choices i have is 2 go for either Geforce 4 ti 4200/4600 or ATI 8500 or wait for ATI R300 / Nvidia NV30(remember both Directx9EnabledCards are/will be 8X). Or should i get a X-box.
The last option is a little tricky. since i leave in Mumbai,India it will be really hard to find X BOX and its DVDs.

Cpu and MB:-
Hey i know Duron Sucks now, But what should i do? Should i go for P-4 2 giga with 850MB and 256 Rd-1026 Ram or AMD XP 2000+ Via KT333 mb and 256 MB 333 ram. (hey remember i want a 8X AGP slot MB).
Or better, wait for AMD Opteron and MBs supporting 8X AGP and DDR 400 and above.

Hey i don'nt have cash waiting to be dumped but my rig looks pale now.
It has served me for better part of year and there r no signs of slowing the most common things i do.

I would wait for your post and then say (OK write) what i think is the most sensible option.

I had a very similar system to yours last month, but with an asus a7v133.

I bought an athlon xp 1800 and a geforce 3 ti 200, overclocked them both  , now my computer is soo much faster. I dodn't know if this is great, but I get 6900 3dmarks at 1024x768.

The whole upgrade cost me £160.

If you really want to play games though, an xbox might be cheaper. You can spend hundreds on a pc every year, and they go out of date so fast.

I'll always stick to a proper computer though!

good luck

I say u go for a athlon if you want a computer, wait for the 2nd generation of what evers comin up,
I got a XP 1800+ also, it roxors im in canada and surrounded by computers and shit, Athlons cost less and are powerful, Ive got 512 DDR and its great, so wait for DDR400 or if you wanna jump the gun the 333DDR board r great
get a radeon300 if u want the fps, im starting to wave away from geforces, although I have one or wait for GF5's

Finally my patience pays off?

Remember what i said @ the top :-"I want MOBO with *x AGP, Hammer Support..." I think my prayers r answered. DFI (I actually used their KT 133 Mobo..was nice.) have released Mobo for AMD K7, DFI AD77Pro. It is said to support both current gen and next gen of AMD Athlons(Next Gen=Hammer..WOW). The key features are as follows..

DDR 400 support with backward compatible to DDR 333, 266.
AGP 8X, USB 2.0,
Serial ATA(150 Mb/sec) ,
IDE(Raid), 6 Channel onboard Sound,

Link to this sweet Mobo- http://sj.dfi.com.tw/press/arch110.asp

I almost got A Soltek Via 266a MOBO with DDR/SDRAM Support;Thats it I m getting this one.

After this upgrade the quest for AGP Begins..........[/url]
