so after one year in standby u will get a higher bill

most CRTs will have no real Power off
you can check this by looking at your monitor switch ... is it a REAL switch ... closing power connection or not ? is it just a button ... if its just a button its nearly equal if you let windows shut down the display or not ... if ya want real powersaving you always got to pull out the powercable .. most things still use power even if they are turned off ... maybe get a powersource with a switch so you can turn off speakers monitor printer and such thingswith one click
