Memory Frequency Settings Help

First I would like to say Hi to everyone.
OK heres the problem when I go to my bios and highlight CPU I get this message on the right hand side of the screen in red
Caution: According to CPU external frequency setting, System memory can only operate at frequency higher than or equal to 333MHz,
Please make sure the Dram Maximum frequency is not less that 333MHz. OK it's not it is set at 333MHz
Then when I highlight the Memory frequency I get this message in red
Caution: Only support 1 Certified DDR 400 module on this product.
I'm not sure what the problem is but I'm using a 512MB stick of Corsair PC2700 333 memory.
I know it's not DDR 400.
I just want to know that my FSB is running at 333.
Is there any way to correct this problem? :hmm:

1. don't worry about the first msg it only says that your motherboard does not support DIVs like

FSB/RAM
6/5
6/4
and so on ....
it can only be
1 or 1,25 or 1,33 x FSB ....

Values above are just examples so don't complain

2. this "warning" is ALWAYS there it does NOT detect your hardware

the second error shows you the max DDR400 modules you can insert in your case 1
this is realatively new ... for example .. my motherboard has 3 slots
it can take 3x DDR333 1GB modules
or 2xDDR400 Modules .....

and your Board only supports 1 DDR400 module but you can put DDR333 in all of them

So, what you are saying is that these are normal warnings.
Is it that my Mobo does not recognize the type of DDR I'm using? and if so am I running at 333MHz FSB?
How do I tell just by the frequency settings?

BTW: Thanks for your help Big Grin

..... the text is confusing me ... but if I got you right ....

NO, the motherboard does in most cases not know what RAM you use if you insert DD266 modules it will not say .... OH OH they are not capable of it ... it will just run the 333 MHz you set up .... if it works or not is the other question ... so if you have DDR333 Modules and run them on 333 as your FSB everything runs fine

Actually, Mertsch, the motherboard can read the SPD data from the memory modules to determine what timings and frequencies they are capable of.

Yes I know that why I said most motherboards ...
They do detect SPD but the only thing that counts is what YOU set up, so there is really no use of SPD if you look at FSB setting
and setting also only if you use "by SPD"
