The new error reporting feature in Microsoft's new products—including Windows XP, Office XP, and newer versions of Internet Explorer—has prompted the US Department of Energy to release an advisory about the feature's security risks. The DOE advisory claims the information sent to Microsoft "includes a memory dump which may contain all or part of the document being viewed or edited." Obviously, that's bad.

My personal opinion: I don´t need this function cause I don´t like it if any tool goes online and I don´t know what information the tool sents. For me it´s the same then you open the door from your house and anybody can access and you don´t know what the peoples are looking for. And I use my computer for personal things and I don´t want that anybody has the chance to read this!

Thats not a big deal before XP sends anything it asks you "Send Report to Microsoft " or "Do not Send Report" you chose what to do. By sending a report you are helping MS to fix problems and making the OS work better no info about you is sent. If you think that you have somthing in your memory that others should not see click "Do Not send"
