You want High AA and Low res?
these are took on a Geforce 4 ti 4400 with 12x Anti Aliasing enabled
you will need a 3rd party utilty to use AA above 4xs on a Geforce 4.

First
AA running grandia II, a Pc port of an PSX2 game that has a huge prob with jaggies
640*480 12x AA

Next No AA 640*480

See the diff, and this is just at 640*480@32bpp 12x Runs well up until 1024*768, and still on older games usable till 1280*1024.

I only have a budget ATi card (9000pro) but it will do 6x FSAA in Quality or Performance mode.... I'm pretty sure the higher models will do a lot more.

I'll post a couple of shots of morrowind bloodmoon 640x480 6xFSAA 16xAnsiotropic when I find my copy of PS7 to jpeg the shots. Big Grin

not sure but i do think ATI is limited to 6x, its totaly unoffical support for nvidia cards anyway, but it works. 12x AA is a good reason Vcards need more then 128mb of vram, check out this 3dmark score, bout killed my geforce 4 for it Big Grin

heres 3dmark 2k1 scores for the geforce 4 ti 4400
12x AA 8x ani 640*480 16bit
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6615317
belive it or not at with 12x aa with ani disabled theres only like a 200point diff same goes for 1024*768 32bpp
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6615349
very poor scores, but the gf4 really wasn't meant to do anything but 2x with anyreal speed anyhow.

12x ?

You sure?
The maximum is achieved by ATi cards (6x), and Nvidia FX cards (8x - although its badly done)

yes all the geforce 3/4/fx family can use AA up to 12x, and all the ancient OGSS modes can also be forced to be used to, you jus need to do some reg tweaks or use a thrid party utility like riva tuner. that screen shot of grandia at 640*480 is 12x AA its insanely effecitive jaggies are almost gone even at sutch a low res.
