LONGHORN WINHEC 4074 SCREEN SHOTS

Installed the latest and greatest Longhorn within VMWare and here are some screens...

Surprisingly...

Actually that is the default theme it gives you upon first boot up... It is a Windows theme...

I checked all the others and none of them are any different than XP...

This was released to the good old folks at WinHEC on Thursday and I got it on Friday - HOW QUICK THOSE LEAKS ARE - They need a plumber... LOL.

It is a bootable CD at about 756MB so you need either a DVD R or 800MB CDR - Luckily VMWare allows you to point to .ISO images as if they are CDs... That's how I was able to install it... Can't get networking to work through the VMWare, it gives ERROR on network card drivers from VMWare AMD PCNET adapter can't allocate resources so it has NO network?

Can't toy with Internet with it :evil:

Honestly a lot of things have been changed and moved throughout but it's NOT much different than XP SP2 behind the scenes - I still can't find ADD NEW HARDWARE anywhere or make it rescan for new hardware - this is definately going to get a lot of people LOST when it does come out???

Looks like MCP's and MCSE's are going to get lost again with this release and have to RENEW those CERTS... :beer:

NOT BEFORE 2006. You serious? Wow man. Why are they taking so long for another release of Windows. Its normally like a 1-2 year gap before a new Windows is released. *sigh* I want new Windows Sad

cus its something technically totally new ...
as you see it does nearly look the same ... but the thing behind the scenes is something different ... just take WinFS e.g. ... or a direct X based interface and hell a lot more stuff ... it just takes time ...
just google around for most important changes ... else the GUI ..
and yes I am serious ...

I would really wait if they can make a better operating system, make no sence if it release early and not that good. Take your time MS.
