LCD and the Ignorance from their Makers

LCD, TFT, Flatscreens, you name it, you've heard about it. 6 years ago, having one made you the first kid on the block, now you pretty much find them on the street. They are everywhere and their market is still growing every quarter. But, ...

Honestly, those DataFuse.net articles are crap. They are short and don't contain much useful information.

So, let's stick with CRT until they come up with some better stuff.

Absolute nonsense IMHO.

agreed
this is indeed a serious discussion and both CRT and TFTs have its PRO can CONS but this has nothing to do with news ... start a topic and discuss :hmm:

So you guys don't have a problem with the low resolutions on TFT monitors?

Well, if you want a higher resolution you can choose a bigger screen size (20"). Those ones mostly have a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. I use a 17" display and 1280x1024 is quite high for that size. 18" may be optimal and 19" may be a bit large for that resolution but it is not such a big deal.

Hmm, maybe not to you, but when you're in graphic design or whatever those things are close to worthless. And why not up the resolution? Shouldn't be such a big deal either. People who like working on lower resolutions could still decide to run it on 1280*1024.

personally I find 1280 is the perfect 19" resolution ....
and I would not use a 1600 19" display also because of the fact that very few games run good on 1600x1200
I would have to interpolate most of the games .... this way I can run any game at native resolution which is perfect

That's indeed a factor. How much more gaming performance I would gain if I'd just run games at 1024x768 instead of the native resolution of 1280x1024. Interpolated graphics just look horrible. If we talk about the negative aspects of TFT displays, that should be much more of a concern than the maximum resolution.
