im currently testing 5.0
seems like it doesnt upgrade the program through the update function (which means uninstall + reboot + reinstall) not the best way to do it.
its also excrutiating slow to scan compressed archive contents.
it doenst seem to use significantly less ressources than NAV and it cannot customise the autoprotect(other than each setting) so if you want outgoing emails scanned you have to select "Maximum protection" setting - selecting w whole other bunch of things too.
I'll see if it actually catches the vireus next time i get a virus mail.
but so far Norton AV seems like the more professional tool - even if it IS the big evil corporation.
but that the update doesnt update everything is rediculous.

the worst thing about kaspersky is that if you enter a folder containing a self extract file, or an installer, or a compressed exe file, it would scan the whole file when you just navigate that folder.
it´s irritating

same way with zip files.
and only by setting it to minimal protection you can remove this.
really annoying

im doing lots of digital photographing and needless to say, this simply doesnt work when it scans the archives with 1 .jpg per 2 seconds.

kaspersky's own estimate was a scan time of 2 days :-/

i'll se if zip scanning can be disabled via the registry

yeah, that sucks
i´m using the lower level of real time protection :/
anyway, it is the best av software out there, it can detect viruses that nav or symantec av corporate simply can´t.
it has updates every 5 hours or so, and each update is only 20/50 kb, really nice Big Grin
