HP pavilion hard drive help!

Can't seem to remove the hard drive bracket so that I can slip in a new hard drive on a HP Pavilion 7960...

Any pointers?

You shouldn't have remove the bracket at all. I had a 7940 not too long ago. If I remember correctly the bracket just flips out on a hinge (or something to that effect).

Big Grin
Removing the Drive Cage

To remove a 3" hard drive or to remove a system component on the motherboard, you must first remove the drive cage. The removable 3" drive cage is located below the fixed 5" drive cage.

Before removing the drive cage, you must first remove the left side panel. Follow the procedure above to remove the left side panel
Gently lay the computer on its side.
Remove the fan duct (See the Fan Assembly page).
Label and remove all cables from all devices in the drive cage (Hard Disk Drive, Floppy Drive)
Hold the release tab down as you lift the cage up and out.

IF YOU WOULD POST YOUR EMAIL I WOULD SEND YOU TWO PIX HOW TO DO IT
