You pay for your internet access, so in wider terms you have paid for it, just not to the copyright holders it seems

Buy a linux release, lol it's open source. If you want support, just go to linux.com, etc., and browse the forums. Xandra is way better than Susie, especially when it comes to supporting windows apps. Mandrake 8.2PPC is a free download, if you got the time for all 3 cds (only need the first 2). 8)

Most paid but I freely try out

Well most everything I have paid for and the few I haven't either not actually worth it and I no longer used it or like it and eventually will buy it.

I find it no worse than a frien loaning me a cassette mix of songs and the few songs I like I got out and buy the CD. Old habits never change I guess.

Maybe an unlawful practise, but how many of you purchsed 40-80$ games to either not work out of the box or you were absolutely dissatisfied with it? Not everything 100% refundable here in my area of Canada. There's software places that once you purchase a game or software programs and you return it with box previously opened you are considered already copied it, Sad state really.

Now I usually wait until a game is out or try it out on a friends computer or even wait until the first patch comes out before buying... I have let some other paying beta tester (Game Purchaser) get ripped off first so I may freely test before I buy. Again it's sad.

For example Everquest; I won a Trilogy package with free 1 month online and bought a used Shadows of Luclin expansion for the graphicical upgrade really for $19.95 - 4 weeks free online playing it and seeing the many many gameplay bugs and crappy graphics and empty areas, glad i didn't wasted anything more than $19.95. Delete delete.
