Highpoint HP370 onboard raid drivers

hey guys,

Does anyone know if you can upgrade the bios of the an onboard RAID array? I have a EPOX 8K7A+ motherboard with version 2.0.0907 dios. Windows will only work correctly if the equivalant driver is put on to match the bios. Therefore to get better drivers I need to upgrade the highpoint bios.

has anyone done this successfully?

You cannot directly upgrade the Bios of the Raid controller, you need to look for a new Bios version of your motherboard which contains a newer version of the Onboard Raid controller. I have done that before on my Mainboard but I didn't use a Raid array, I configured my Hard disks as single drives. This way it's no big deal to upgrade to a newer Bios version. But if you do use a Raid configuration (Strip set/Mirrored) then it's definitely not recommended to upgrade to a newer Raidbios without making a complete Data backup. So if you do find a new Motherboard-Bios version with a new Raid Bios incorporated be sure to save your data on drives not connected to the Highpoint controller.

By the way the most up to date Highpoint Bios and drivers version is v. 2.34 but I don't think there's a Motherboard Bios already available including that Highpoint Bios because it's really brand new.

incorrect you can modify them. You just need the bios bin file and the highpoint raid bios you want to merge and get the utility http://download.sudhian.com/faq/kt7/down.../CBROM.zip

Good luck and have fun
