I have extensively tested all Os at the edge and win2000/xp is rubbish
for 3d applications (slow/unstable). 2000 was crap for games and XP is built on 2000. 98 is the fastest with Me coming a close second. If you want to run MSoffice then go for 2000/XP but for anything else its crap.

DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE!

Try benchmarking for yourself (more than 1 run). In all these reviews 2K gets stability as some sort of consolation prize without any scientific data to back it up. When a system is at its limit, stability shows through more and 2k craps itself at lower clock speeds than Me. 2k is percieved as more stable as these systems traditionally have RAID and/or Parity checking and are run at stock speeds.

Test for yourself and

by the way NT is just as old as DOS 5/win 3.11
