I think it has to do with the BIOS, but he really doesn't want to flash his BIOS. This isn't for my computer, I have a mostly Gigabyte computer that I built myself. My buddy bought a Dell and he wanted to tweak his video card. Unfortunately, he doesn't even have the OpenGL, Direct3D, Clock Frequencies, or Desktop Utilities tabs in his additional properties. He just installed the 29.80 drivers, so it isn't because of his drivers. Fuck I hate Dell !

Well, how am I supposed to know that you can't flash a Dell ? And, I already told him that he probably couldn't anywayz.
RivaTuner will allow him to change the settings. The problem is, the settings don't do anything.
Anistropy doesn't work, V-Sync doesn't work, etc. Antialiasing works, but that's it.
He couldn't do anything w/ the 28.32 or the 29.42 drivers, either. And here's a pic of his additional properties ...

another think he can flash BIOS on that vid. card and then go trough POWER USER tab in RT and enable some of the options.. or maybe he should get GF3 or Ti500, they r very cheap, that GF2 realy "killing" performance on allready crappy system..

Can you give me a link to that registry hack ? I'm a little hungover. By little, I mean very. He's kind of defensive about his computer, so I don't know how much I can get him to do. I know he will not let me flash the BIOS. I might be able to get him to try that registry hack, but he's cautious around registry shit. He doesn't have a job, so he doesn't have any money to buy a card. Poor bastard only scores 2200's w/ a 1.2 GHz Pentium 3 (I think) and a GeForce2 MX. I score over 1100 points better than him. Tongue I gotta change my sig because I scored 3346 a couple of weeks ago.

Try uninsalling the video drivers with this utility called detonator destroyer.

http://www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/

reinstall video drivers and then run the reg hack.

I own a dell and if my memory does not fail me  (have it for 2 years now but have changed a lot of things since ) i had the same problem in the beginning but found a registry entry that unlocked these settings . If i remember correctly it was in the same location as the coolbits entry , problem is i can't exactly remember what it was . Cry
So if you post the settings you find at this location perhaps you can jog my memory Big Grin
