My Old comp is K6-2 500 mhz with Redfox Agp-ali board Running Win 2000 PRO
i have some probs with 3dblaster rivatnt2
when i try to install detenator 2-3 drivers (which works best with k6) after few minutes for office usage or surfing the intenet the comp freeze or restart it self.
it only happens when i use the rivatnt with detenators 2-3
no 1 until 2day couldn't solve my problem
now im working with voodoo 3 3000 on it
it's nice but i want to get little more performance out of this machine

Recent Bios and ALI chipset drivers installed ?
Tried to disable AGP2x ?

A V3-3000 is faster than a TNT2 so what's your problem ?

I had the same problem,
it was a problem with my mainboard, w/ a tnt2 also, on a old p2 333

I had to play w/ my bios and load drivers to fix it

don't worry about Det 2 or 3

get the 6.88 this one works best with TNT cards ...
and the 7.56 which got some new features enabled but a bit slower ..

Allso Those 6.XX and 7.XX doesnt work
only Det XP

long time ago I had a system like u and all dets worked perfectly ... but the higher .... the slower ...

very weird Creative And REDFOX couldnt solve the problem either
