I think everyone knew it was going to be delayed, if even for just a short time. After ID announced they would hold off on the Doom3 release for a couple of months, I think Valve decided it would be a good time to hold back on thier own release to add some more polish / fix up steam before the big day.

I actually think this is a good thing, how many game companies rush out thier game in time for some deadline, only to end up with a buggy piece of junk. (*cough* Temple of Elemental Evil *cough* Enter the Matrix)

you need to real BIG thing to swallow in order to cough all BS titels of last month/years ..... its impossible to go into the shop and simply buy something because its looking nice .... BS there is only BS out you really have to search for good games .... and I mean really good games .... which make real fun not only a bit ... to name just one more ... U2 ....
I really hope HL2 is not one of these games ... and I am 99% sure that Doom3 won't since the alpha was already impressive
