Gigabyte suckz

(Moved for readers news into forums, originally posted by shitshot)

If you're thinking of buying a Gigabyte based Pentium 4 motherboard, don't bother until after Christmas, I've now been waiting for Gigabyte to supply my local PC shop with a revision 2 GA-8KNXP board for the last 7 weeks and I'm not the only one, each time Gigabyte seem to have sent out revision 1 of the board as you might not be aware revision 1 wont support Intel's upcoming Prescott CPU leaving you no upgrade path and this seems to be the same story for other Gigabyte Pentium 4 motherboard.

I have lost a lot of respect for Gigabyte as a company, after a quick scan of the more popular site like scan, overclockers and Aria to name a few it seems that Gigabyte are dumping stock of reversion 1 of their more popular 865 and 875 boards! so be careful when buying a Gigabyte board and make sure you get revision 2, if you plan on getting a Prescott processor! I'll be email Gigabyte UK later to see if I can get a reply?

ABIT did the same with their KT7A 1.0 Tongue only 1.3 supported athlon xp's. Was lame for sure...

I'm happy with my Gigabyte KT600 mobo, stable as hell unlike the funky nforce2.

I spoke to Jon Hong at Gigabyte UK and he's agreed to ask all Gigabyte resellers to post board revisions on there sites! so up to a point Gigabyte agree they were wrong? Jon Hong also tells me that they have revision 2 in stock in the warehouse ready to ship

hehe .... BUT you have to admit ......
when you buy a mobo and buy rev 1 or what so ever you know that XXxxxxXXX does not run or work ... so the manufacturer does not have to replace your mobo .....
its only something different if you currently buy a mobo and get 1.0 while 2.0 is out then take is back to your local store and replace it ...

it is nice if manufacturer supports you by giving you a newer revision of the mobo but he does not have to ....
