if u look carefully at the display card of 1x,
u would notice that the 1x card cannot be plug in to 8x agp slot.
(because of the gap at the agp card. it is in front)
new agp card either has 1 gap at the back, or 2.
it is possible to plug in a 2x card on a 8x agp slot

yes if you feel the need to fry your motherboard and/or video card...
only 4x & 8x work with 8x mobos...except if you use agp univeral

I cant believe people answer the guys question incorrectly. Dont say nothing if you dont know what your talking about.
1.5 Volts is default for 4x and 8x cards.
If your overclocking you can raise it but not recomended without good cooling.
