Honestly. The GF4MX card isnt much better than your old GF2MX, which is pretty sad. Hence the low price. I HIGHLY suggest you check out http://www.tomshardware.com, before purchasing a new GF4MX. In their(Toms Hardware) review of the new GF4 card line-up (under graphics column), it shows the true performance differences between the new GF4 cards, and the old GF3's and GF2's.

After seeing the hard performance facts on the GF4MX, personally, I wouldnt buy it.
However, a GF4TI4600 or 4400 I would buy, those are truely high-end cards.

I'm running on an ATI Radeon 8500 right now, and I have no complaints. In fact I'm rather impressed with ATI, and their new found concern for driver support to their customers. So far, in the way of 3D Mark2001, I've gone from 7183marks to over 7753 marks in just the past 2 months, on driver updates alone. (by the way, that trashes a GF3TI500 w/ near perfect drivers, and I got it for about $100 less
And later, when I wand GF4TI performance, Ill just OC my vid card and take care of that lil problem

Good luck with your card hunting. I hope I helped a at least a little.

Hi,

sorry for my bad english, but here are some thing to correct. I tested a GF4 MX from Leadtek, and the difference (had a GF2Ti and ATI R7500) is incredible. I wouldn't buy a GF3Ti (GF4 MX was faster) or a GF4Ti (big probs with drivers and pixel+vertex-shaders -> tested on 5 dif. systems, prize high) or an ATI R8500 (bad picture quality, antialiasing).

actually gf4 mx does not support pixel shading or any other cool stuff, but right now, if you can afford it, you can buy a gf4 ti4400 for $235 at gateway just use coupon #BA686 to get $50 off anything over $199.

XTASY GEFORCE4 TI4400 $235 Item# 0000165986

Do you say the the 8500 has worse IQ than a GF???? come on, the IQ is far better with the Radeon, I've seen the images together, and trust me, the Radeon looks better.

Cmon! As you can overclock your GF3ti200 as the same speed as a GF3ti500, I think the big winner is a ti200.

Yep listen to the folks here. I tested an Abit GeForce 4 Mx and it is quite fast yes but still it does not have any DirectX hardware support hence no pixel shaders. Go with a GeForce 3 Ti or Radeon 8500.

The GeForce Titaniums/Ti series are much faster than the GeForce 4 MX 420/440/460 series. However, contrary to what the 2nd poster (Anonymous) said, the GeForce 4 MX is a HUGE step up from the GeForce 2 MX. However, it doesn't support pixel shaders which severely limits its future uses. The best investment would be either a GeForce 3 Titanium 200 or 500 (more expensive) or as others said a Radeon 7500 or 8500 which is a very good option now that they have dropped prices as well and also support TruFORM. However, if you want best image quality/clarity the GeForce will be FAR superior.
