I have thise overly werid problem.... I have a Gainward GeForce2 Pro/450 w/ 64mb DDR and everything claims that my card doesn't support DirectX8. I have DirectX8.1 installed (infact I just reinstalled it right before posting this). dxdiag (the diagnostics prog with DirectX) claims that DirectX 7 stuff works fine and DirectX 8 stuff is not supported. 3DMark2001 also reports this. I'm currently running NVidia's official 23.11's. I have tried Gainward's latest official drivers which are 22.50's. I've also tried 27.10, 27.20, and 27.42. None of them support DirectX8 apparently. I am running Windows 2000.

On a completely seperate note... my friend has the Leaktek version of the same card and he has Windows XP and for him it claims that his card doesn't support OpenGL yet DirectX7 and 8 are fine. (And we've tried the same steps)

I have no idea what's up with this if anyone has any ideas or suggestions please feel free to give them since Gainward and Leadtek don't seem to be answering.
