Geforce 4 MX SERIES? NO...

These cards arent meant for extreme gaming. Point made. Look it up on Nvidia's site. Only good for high speed office work and basic gaming, for the average and the noobs bascily. Hey if you wanna buy your g/f a video card so she can play "THE SIMS" then the MX is the way to go. But remeber in the geforce series. You get what you pay for.

What does it matter?

If I would ever pay $400 for a Ti4600 (It won't happen, but if), I wouldn't even get something close to what I paid for...Sure, I could spend $400 without any economical problems, but why should I? If you got the offer to pay $400 for someone to throw a rock at you, you wouldn't pay. Same goes with nVidiot hardware if you ask me.

Open for flames, and also comments from intelligent people

Um, no.....

The MX series of cards MIGHT die off in about 6 months time, but there current price makes them an excellent gaming card. I myself have a gf4MX440 and a friend of mine has a ti4600. At the moment, the only GAME his runs noticably better in is Serious Sam 2. Now i'm talking about games here, not benchmarks. It's all well and good that the gf4mx "apparently" won't run doom3. That's nice dear, doom3 isn't out yet, and by that time there's probably gonna be another round of video cards.

You want my opinion, at the moment I feel the planet needs nothing bigger than a gf2 ultra, maybe a ti200 gf3 if you got a nice monitor.

<sigh> you dissapoint me

If you pay for 399 for a Geforce 4 ti 4600 then your a damn noob. POINT MADE. I got mine for 285. New Egg sales them for 339.
Come on man, Shop be smart.

As for you the SERIOUS SAM user. Serious Sam 1 +2 are not that demanding. If you can run 1600x1200 with that petty Geforce 4 mx in high 32 bit textures then more power to ya. You and I know you cant. Well you could but your frame rate would be ass.

What does it matter

Oh my gawd, you must be very "1337", using nasty words such as noob...And about the price, it was just an example (if you need help with what the word "example" means, don't be afraid to ask). I can get it for something like $300, but even if it would cost me $10...I would only pay so that I could sell it to someone else for $350. Point made (well obviously, duuuuuh)

SURE IT WOULD.. come on.. yah you really got me there.
Hell of course I dont even have to go thru the facts and the reviews with ya. Nvidia itself says the MX series is for basic gaming and fast graphics in an office environment.
Oh Ya Im sure you could get the Geforce 4 series for 10 bucks, Im sure thats your Resellers price. No need to lie man no need to lie.

Just let it go.. your done, cooked and served.

maybe its just me, but i find myself pulling my slacks to get my ass threw all that bitching right there. mx cards are quality cards, more value based than quality, tho. You can't spend 100 bucks on any video card and expect to get the performance of one that cost 400, i dont care how blind you are. i would have to agree that spending 400bucks on anything other than a quality whore is a waste, id rather wait 3 months and get it on clearence for 250 with a 40 mail in rebate. Nvidia has new shit comming quick fast and ina hurry anyway, anyone thats got half a loaf in their head won't buy a new vidcard till 8x boards come out.

We'll i recently upgraded from a GF2 MX400 64MB Pine to a XfX GF4 Mx440 64MBDDR. We'll for starters the card is way better than the GF2Mx400 no argument there. But as far as gaming goes it gives you a nice performance in games as they go. I play Q3, Unreal, SSam 1-2, Blood Omen 2, Jedi Knight 2, ALien vs Predator 2 and the card outperforms my old card in every aspect. I'm running at 1024 * 768 / 32bits. I haven't seen any game yet that the card cannot run decently and as far as i'm concerned i will only upgrade this car when nvidia puts something worth the money you pay for it because i'm not willing to go out and pay 300- 500 for a GF4 Ti 4600 when there's a new generation of cards on the horizon.
