Jugging from how you say things you dont know much about comps Tongue, but you need to give out exact specs of your comp for us to determine if it will work out... (ie: 1400mhz comp, 512 ram).

First off GeForce 4 MX 440 is a lower end value brand card, meaning if you dont have the dough and you dont really need it for hardcore games then its an alternative.

Recalling that you have $109 to spend for that card, it will be wise to get a better one (considering there are even better ones for that price), about cooling for the comp you need to state your specs for us to know if you do really need one. (most cards already have cooling)

GTA III & GTA: VC System Requirements Range from:
450mhz minumum
700-800+mhz recommended

128 RAMminimum
256mb+ RAM recommended
(Yes, with an 440MX, these games will run, GTA3 though it will be choppy. VC it will run good, though when it rains you will feel frames drop)

Now for Half-Life 2 you might need a higher end computer/card considering its gonna be a bad ass game LOL

Buying a 3d Card online is probably the cheapest way to go, sites that i would recommend are:

1. http://www.pricewatch.com ResellerRatings, this site shows reviews on Companies/Sites that sell retail online. Remember when you're buying online you need to look around for the best prices along if the place you're going to buy your stuff from is reviewed good and wont take 10 years to send things.

Also whenever buying online it is wise to go one step higher in S&H(Shipping and Handling) as for it is safer for a product to get to you. Though for things such as my cdroms i just use Ground shipping, came to be good condition, didnt really matter to me Big Grin

All in all, buy things according to your computer specs, ask around for recommendations on what to get... there should be someone always there to help, 2nd, dont buy mx/value cards as for they do not give good performance (if you're a gamer).

Geforce4 MX440 series are really bad, a Geforce3 Ti500 beats them. If you want more performance you need to get a Geforce4 Ti4600 or Radeon 9500 to even notice the diffrence.

actually... the official minimum sys req is 800 mhz and a TNT2 type card. its build to be scalable because of the CS fanbase, where most have lower end computers.
