Here's the simplest way to fix the refresh rate of the new Detonator v27.42 with Win2k:

1. Before installing the new driver, make a backup of your old registry key values (from v23.11 or higher with all your refresh rates already fixed with RefresRateFix) at "My_computer-HKLM-System-CurrentControlSet-Services-nv-Device0" with the "Export Registry file" option in Regedit.
2. Uninstall your current driver via Add-Remove Programs.
3. Install Detonator v27.42.
4. Delete the Device0 key or ALL the values inside.
5. Merge your old registry backup (from step 1), reboot & enjoy.

Sorry to ask a newbie question, but how can I tell if I'm getting 60hz in a game? I've applied the fix as per your instructions above. I used the fixed reg. entry from the 27.20 drivers and applied it after switching to the 27.42s. Everything seems fine, just not sure to check on what refresh I'm actually getting in-game. Thanks

Just enable V-sync in Direct3D and run 3DMark
The frame-rate will stop at the refresh-rate limit.

Doesn't work for OpenGL. Still stuck in 60Hz headache land.

You should all check out http://xp-refresh.net and tell MS to fix this stupid problem in the next release of Windows... Then we won't have to worry about stuff like this.
