Firefox 2.0.0.8 is crashing Vista
I can report that at least at Windows Vista ultimate edition the new Firefox 2.0.0.8 is crushing the machine every now and then. The first two times it gave us a nice BSOD while the third time just crushed itself and many valuable browsing windows.
Until Mozilla fixes this, we are doomed to go for Exploder or to go for an alternative Opera or even Safari but not certainly not the Firefox. We lost some serious work because of it, and it hurt us a lot.

I'm using Vista and recently updated Firefox to version 2.0.0.8. I have not encountered any problems whatsoever.

RE: Firefox 2.0.0.8 is crashing Vista
I'm using Vista Ultimate 32-bit and SO FAR I haven't had any problems with FF 2.0.0.8. I've been using V32 Ult for about a month now. If anyone is having problems with FF in V32 then please post.

RE: Firefox 2.0.0.8 is crashing Vista
hello
I am running vista and firefox keeps updating. Every time it updates I have a complete system crash and the computer will not turn back on. Sometimes I can get in safe mode, I do a system reset and sometimes I can then log back in. This has happened many times. After the system is reset firefox updates and I go through the problem all over again.
any help?

I've had many problems with vista that has lead to several clean installs.
IE7 and firefox crash vista ultimate daily. Often causing a BSOD. System has updates and not ones that have been known to cause crashes - yep MS release updates that intentionally or unintentionally crash your PC!!!
I am now using firefox 2.0.0.11 As I was writing this I was restoring a crashes browsing session in firefox - it crashed a further 4 times before it stays open and it bound to crash again even when all addons are disabled.
IE7 crashed as I was posting this message so this is my second attempt. Vista should not have been released this decade it was not ready - far too many bugs and errors, as much as xp caused problems vista surely causes more. Win2k was probably the best OS that and winserver2003. I expect the new release Vienna to be the same junk as this if not worse. All the software developers that work for Microsoft and they never get it right.
I have a new PC for vista ultimate that has all compatible hardware including motherboard. And it still crashes. I don't beleive a word people say about having incompatible hardware if you have a new PC with compatible hardware and have all correct drivers. It is not like it is an old PC I am using vista ultimate on. well Microsoft has always released crapware and virusware, may as well be classed as a virus. Amazes me how a company that release junk has such capital, any other company not in the computer world would be bankrupt or done for fraud.
Linux still rules!
I also bought 64bit and 32bit editions of vista ultimate and both crash, only 64bit edition supports less software in 64bit. Still total crapware.
