Extracting WMP 8 From WinXP Prof Disk?

Is there a way to reinstall the WMP 8.0 by extracting this, only, from the WinXP Prof. disk? I installed wmp 9 and it became screwed-up. I don't want to have to reinstall winxpo prof in order to get wmp8 back. Any ideas anyone?

Re-install WMP9 and don't install the WMP critical update@ Windows Update because it seems to break WMP9's video playback capabilities.

zombie is true. don't install any update relate to wmp because wmp9 use some of new directshow filter and may cause error because the update change the file to older and wmp don't find one that support itself.
