DVD Playback Volume Extremely LOW!

:o Well I run PowerDVD XP Deluxe and I turned off AC3 Decode in Audigy Surround Mixer to let PowerDVD do the Dolby Digital decoding. Either way I have a very low volume on playback (yes I have checked all Windows settings also in PowerDVD itself).

Any tips or tricks from you guys?

I've same problem. I think because the dolby digital decoding that using in DTT2500 output low volume. But if u want more powerful volume , try this :

- Select Fourpoint mode in DTT2500 ( don't select movie mode or music mode cause u only get matrix surround from DTT2500. DTT2500 only use Front Channel as an input if u select movie or music mode, you could try it if u don't believe)

- In Surround Mixer, change it to 4 speaker profile
- Select Analog output or Digital output, but i prefer analog, cause more high volume on playback.
4. Enable AC3 decoder
5. Select 4 speaker in PowerDVD

If u using DTT2500 u can't get 6 speaker in analog or digital output, cause DTT2500 or DTT3500 only using 2 channel ( Front and real ) as input. I've change my speaker to DTT2200, cause it more powerful than DTT2500 and it compatible with Audigy & SBLIVE 5.1

yo Rancho!!

So what do you mean by you checked all the windows settings in Powerdvd? I have had this problem too, with AC3 decode enabled and disabled... so I take a look at the Audio options in Powerdvd, and changed the Audio performance (?) setting from Theater to Normal... Also try the third option for more volume... or maybe turn up the volume dial on the speakers Big Grin
