Doom 3 problem: Screen Flashes

Hello, I have a problem with Doom 3, when I try to play a message saying that it couldn't load default.cfg appears and then it crashes, however this only happens when I use the Desktop shortcut if I use the startmenu shortcut I can play but when I am in the game the screen starts to flash when i move. This are my computers specs:

Athlon XP 2800+ Barton
Gefroce FX 5600 (A little bit OCed, I already tried to play without OC and still flashes)
384 DDR 333mhz
Motherboard MSI kt6v

Im also using Starstorm drivers XQ. Thanks for your help.

I experience screen flashes with Opera open. When there are open pages that use dynamic content that forces the page to refresh, then a screen flicker occurs.
