Disappointed Star Wars II

What the hell was that ? Yesterday I saw Star Wars II first time on DVD ! The film is more worse that Nr I. What s up with the Star Wars feeling, a great story, nice dialogs, the force ? Nothing !! Damm, I am so disappointed of this film. In my opionion the attention of the film was only on the SFX but the Story..... These dialogs between Ani and Padame - I love you.... I love you too but we can not... Ok, we marry. Overpainted pictures with awful colors.
I read all books about Star Wars and I like 4,5 and 6 but this film. Ok, it s not bad but it s not a film with Star Wars feeling and story.
Thank god that i don t have spended money for the film, that I rented it from a buddy.

After the original trilogy the starwars series went to shit, I've only seen half of EP1, and the trailers of EP2, and I dont feel like seeing anymore.

Give me LOTR or Bond anyday.

I feel the same.

Ok, the old Bonds with Connery were much better. Better scenes, better building, looks more like future and fantasie.
But the new one (Pierce) is not bad, it s another Bond but real cool.

LOTR is great. I never readed the books beforebut the films are awesome.

Star Wars......

Ok, Part I was not that bad, ok, compared against 4 5 6 it is very bad but better than II.

II suckz a lot !! No Star Wars feeling, only sucking FX, boring story. Awfull dialogs.

lol

Mark Hamil is the worst actor ever. Its not like the dialouge is much more advanced in EP 4, 5 and 6.
the starwars feeling is there - it just that its in a previous age, so its a bit different. but the small hints about the things to come give me goosebumps all over.

I've never really gotten into the big fuss over star wars. The new ones aren't much different than the first 3. The script is all appalling in all 5 films thus far. The acting is just as bad thanks to the poor script.

Why the first 3 are hailed as classics is beyond me. The current 2 prequels are just as "good" as the other 3 are albeit with far better effects.

George said he made the flick for his kids, or something like that, for kids 7-10 or whatever. I bought the DVD for the kids. My son is 8 and had some friends over, they got bored and put on spiderman.

it sucked bad, George Lucas totatly trashed I dunno how many novels, with making it so those whatever you call those bug species, construct the plans for the death star. Everyone thats read the novels KNOWS bevel Lemelisk was the chief designer of that project, We also have seen nothing of tarkin, and He should be well alive though EP1-3. Making boba fett a clone also was very stuipd. Other things annoy me to, Theres a whole set of Older ships in the novels that Should show up in the movies. Wheres the Dreadnaught heavy cruisers, The VSD's MK I (those ships seen in the last part of the Movie are not VSD's) the corvette class ships should be real previlant, as So should the YT transport line. We should See huge escort carries considering most of the fighters lack a Hyper drive, Now to Fighters There are no Z-95, no cloakships, nothing of the older types that have been established. Also whats VERY stuipd, was WOW we got 5000 clones, Lets TAKE over the Galaxy.... I doubt very mutch you could jus a Little Island with that many. Thrawn had more then that heh.

you guys fucking read too much into the movies. if you took it for what it is, it would be a lot better in ur eyes. i'm a HUGE star wars fan, and i can personally say that i liked episode 1, but i LOVED episode 2, it's one of the best movies i've seen in awhile, and i rate it right up there with empire strikes back. so what if the dialog is cheesy at times, shit ALL movies have cheesy dialog sometimes, it doesn't matter. the movie is about the story, not how many fans lucas can please. there are MANY people out there who loved the movie, and will see the next one. blast the movie all u want, it's not going to change anything.

No it was 4,5 and 6 that sucked.

1 and 2 are really cool if you havent build up expectations for 20 years. Its no wonder people are dissapointed if they think the new movies would exceed their glamorous picture formed by years and years of forgetting the bad things about 4,5 and 6.

So what makes u want to watch Ep2 if ur slagging off Ep1, You'll need to bare in mind that mr Lucas has to come up with a decent storyline to tie in with Ep 4, 5 & 6 & to me he's done a good job, he cannot please everyone who watches it, like some people will think bond is crap as he always wins in the end & you'll need to admit that some of the bond films are a load of bollocks, as someone please tell me that why do the baddies always tell bond what he intends to do to destroy earth then you can always tell when the film is ending when last 10 minutes is full of explosion & bond uses one of his gadgets to save himself & rescue the girl & kill the baddie, come on Mr Bond, it's about time u came up with something new.......

The only thing worth watching about bond is the fit girls he gets off with !!!

I agree, EP 1 & 2 are as good or better than 4-6. im a huge star wars fan too since the age of 6 or so, I played every game and read every book and even got alot of the original toys when I was a child.
EP1&2 were cool, a lot of "not real" star wars fans say they suck, but the real fans love it as much as the others. they just cant see the real meaning of the films and just watch it instead of projecting any self-invented thoughts on it.
its true lucas made this film for all audiences (old and young ones) but mostly for kids. I know a lot of childs that love EP1 & 2 as much as I loved 4-6 when I was a minor.

the films are very well made, they wont win many prizes, but when did a sci-fi ever win a lot of stuff?
i.e. the things that drag anakin over to the dark side slowly are VERY well shown in EP2, and you really feel for him. or some technical things that werent realizable in that time before ep4-6 (like the hyperspace module for obiwans fighter or the fully robotic arm of anakin).

real fans love ep1&2, only wannabe fans dont like em, because they dont have that star wars blood in their veins Wink
I just cant wait for episode 3, but Im very sad that it will be over after that.
god, Im gonna watch EP2 once more now Tongue

New Star Wars vs. Older Star Wars

With all due respect, if any of you saw the originals on the big screen when you were kids and then followed the progress and growth of the galaxy that has taken place in the last 15 years, will know what DarkJedi is talking about.

Lucas has paid no respect for the expanded universe even though all material has to be approved before the stories can be published. Where are the Dreadnaughts indeed? Where is the darker side of this now pristine galaxy? One of the aspects that gave Star Wars its critical acclaim was the fact that unlike any movie before it, everything had a used aspect to it. Cynical? Just look at Blade Runner to see the results of this train of thought.

Lucas is pandering to his pocket and to digital technology and nothing more. I am a HUGE fan (since seeing the original in 1977) but seriously....the new movies are CRAPOLA to the nth degree. The only place to find decent SW is in the novels where the Yuzhon Vong are creating a major problem for the new republic. Talk about creativity and thinking out of the box !!!!

Want to be critical of the SW universe? Read the books man, don't watch the mindless drivel on the big screen - it'll fry what's left of our brains....
