Disable nView?

Is there a way to disable NView? For me and many people it's completly useless and it probably eats ressources. So how could I permanently disable it?

The *only* way to completely remove Nview is using the NVIDIA BIOS editor to disable it, otherwise it gets loaded everytime you startup. Just live with it, you'll notice no difference with it gone.

if you have WinXP or 98 you can run msconfig and untick NVWIZ from the startup list.

It doesn't matter, anyways. I took off nView a few months ago and it didn't make any difference.

Nview

The only way you can actually disable it is as well as disabling nvwiz in startup, within msconfig, also disable the Nvidia service running within the services section of msconfig.

Then you'll have no problems plus an extra 10mb ram at startup.

I use Zone Alarm software firewall, and it reports that NView Desktop Manager attempts to access the Internet, so it apparently is trying to report something back to someone. I keep having to disallow the communication. Now I'm going to uninstall the useless app.

Interesting. I had already disabled Nwiz in Startup and also the entry in Services. I still have the Manager in the control panet and it is still trying to access the Internet.

Nview Nvidia Update

I have XP. I received notification that updates were avail and ready to be installed. I went to the default site, downloaded all that was recommended...one of which was Nvidia driver. I installed everything and ever since, my screen periodically goes blank for about 3 seconds, twice in a row. I've disabled that Nview Desktop junk and it did nothing to improve it.
Anyone have any ideas what's going on with it?
Thanks!
