Omega drivers look pathetic compared to *ANY* standard Dets using Ansiotropic filters. 30.30 included. Smile

But if you really want to use bilinear filtering then omega probably look better.

They are already put to the max image quality if you mess up with the settings you have to install the drivers again (or modify registry if you know how I mean to the same state) so that you get the same image quality back so DON'T mess up with the quality settings :o but if you want then do it

I lost about 1000 on my 3DMark2000 score and about 800 on my 3dmark2001 going from the 29.80 dets to the 30.30. I guess NVidia just wont be working to improve the speed of their drivers under the older cards anymore which is understandable albeit disappointing. I have a GeForce 2Ti incidentally. The image quality does seem better with 30.30 though, using exactly the same settings as I did under 29.80..

Well, I also tried the Omega drivers, and the thing I noticed was this: They set the standard mipmap LOD to -1.5, and enable texture sharpening in OGL. Not that impressive (IMO) considering that all the texture aliasing artifacts I've spent the past two years looking for a way to get rid of came back. I don't know about you, but I'm not on a perma-tripp, so these sparklies reduce image quality to me.

On topic: the 30.30's did give a noticeable increase in anisotropic filtering speed. Where I was playing in 1024*768@32 w 4xFSAA and 2x aniso, I am now able to play at the same res. with 4xFSAA and 4x aniso.

Peace,
T
