28.80 vs 28.90

I have tested the new leaked 28.90 Nvidia driver...

The results in 3D Mark2001SE:

Version 28.80: 8622 3D marks (The best results I got with 28.80)
Version 28.90: 8780 3D marks (My first test with 28.90)

VGA: Asus 8440 (GF4 Ti4400)
CPU: P4 1800MHz
RAM: 512Mb Rambus
HDD: Maxtor ATA100 7200RPM
Motherboard: Intel 850GB
OS: WinXP Pro US
Tweaks: None!

RTCW 1600x1200x32 @ 75hz (PowerStrip), Leadtek Ti4600 300/650mhz:
75 fps (all max normal)
60 fps (2xAnisotropic)
41 fps (8xAnisotropic)

Still no good anisotropic filtering, the performance drop is to big.
Hope Nvidia enables the ATI anisotropic solution as a driver option in the near future. My ATI card looks great at 1600x1200x32 + 16xanisotropic and I lose only 5-15 % in performance. Nvidias 8x looks the same as ATI´s 16x. Sure some people say that in certain angles anisotropic filtering using ATI´s solution looks bad but I haven´t noticed anything playing modern games online lika RTCW and MOHAA.
Worst part is that using anisotropic filtering my ATI card(R8500@300/600mhz) beats my expensive GF4 Ti4600 card...
Nvidia...wake up and make anisotropic filtering possible...

No kidding... my Gainward GF3 Ti200 overclocked to 220/500 can barely handle Half Life of all games with Quincunx and level 8 aniso on. I'd understand if it was RTCW or somethin but Half Life??!?! Geez...

Thats just the different filtering method nvidia uses. It will ALWAYS be a huge performance hit as long as they keep using it. Drivers won't do a damn thing.

I tested it with 3DMark2001SE and was able to overclock my GeForce3ti200 to 235/500 (something I can't achieve with Det23.11). Aswell, my score in 32 bits is 54 points higher than in 16 bits. Strange, isn't that supposed to be the opposite?

28.90 @ 235/500
(16bits@1024x768) = 5688
(32bits@1024x768) = 5742

If I compare with 23.11 @ 225/500 (As I can't overclock higher)
(16bits@1024x768) = 5846
(32bits@1024x768) = 5750
