Confusing TV out problems

Hi,

I've got a GeForce MX 4000 and I'm having problems connecting it to my tv.

I've already tried an s-video to scart cable, that didn't work.

I've now tried using an s-video to composite adaptor and then a composite to composite cable (a very good one). When i first detected the tv i got full colour for about 10 secs, then it went to black and white.

When i restarted the comp to see if this helped it gets into windows and then just flickers with colour, but then if u try doing anything with the display it goes straight back to black and white.

Has anyone any ideas please?!

Thanks

make sure you've set the correct video standard within the nVidia control panel.

For Example NTSC or PAL-I etc.

get rid of the scart adapter ... try on a TV without any adapter just plain SVHS cable + audio if it works there you can check other things if not ... u know
just check a TV with SVHS input

I had a similar problem with a Visiontek ti-4600 VIVO card. It ended up being a grounding problem involving my cable modem, cable input to the TV, and other components I had connected to the system. I ended up unplugging everything except the S-video connector between the TV and video card. It worked great. As soon as I connected the Internet cable to the modem or TV cable box ( both have the same signal at that point) the picture schized out. I ended up checking and changing the polarity of the 120 volt plugs that every thing connects to in the house.
Also make sure that you have the latest drivers and have multiple monitors configured correctly. With both my ti-4600 and ATI 9800 Pro I can use a CRT, digital LCD and analog big-screen TV all at the same time. Killer for watching DVD's or just being decadent...
