Best DVD backup software?

My DVD's some how get tiny scratches on the suraface from taking them out and putting them in the cases and back and forth from the player. I want to put the wear and tear on a backup instead.

What is the best backup software? I've looked and there is a lot of choices. What's the best?

I use alcohol 120%, never had problems with it,
and its cheap between 30-40 EUR,
don't know what exactly you want to backup...
copy protected stuff? or your own dvd compilations ?

VSO Blindwrite is another slim cd/dvd imager,
but can't say if it works with scratched media.

Let's see whats the next "mertsch approved" dvd backup program Big Grin

hehe
I think you are talking about movie backups

http://www.dvdshrink.org/ is 100% mertsch approved

it gets you a copy protection free DVD fitting copy of any DVD

for normal Data copies I prefer Nero since its burning everything you want and does not do that much deep system changes as alcohol or BW
btw
BlindWrite is (since newer releases) one of the worst burning app ever seen
its bugged like hell and has absolutely no options :finger:

DVDShrink is free
and Nero you can buy für 3€ in ebay if you do not own it already (bundled with burner)

lol ?
nero is bugged like hell and overfilled with features normal user dont need.
a friend of mine is always getting buffer underruns and reports extreme cpu load during burn.
I cant burn some cd/dvd's too, it just hang during burn, have to restart pc
dont trust this app sorry

yeah blindwrite is for children 1 click usage, the new versions are working here btw Smile

its slow ... indeed but it has always been reliable

I had that "bug" once, too
its not nero... this is caused b flase installed IDE drivers or in general bad non-miniport drivers
and its a hughe problem to get rid of them ... I can only recommend NOT to install any non-miniport IDE drivers if not absolutely necessary
lemme gues he owns a nForce motherboard ?
