thanks for the tip, bro. I'm going to be doing some work on my A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 box this weekend. I wonder if the new IDE driver will finally allow PlexTool to function correctly on that box. I'm now seriously considering building a 64-bit AMD FX box. Any suggestions for proc/mobo???

ah here is my post gone ... damn how did it slip over to this post ?
anyway do NOT get any A64 yet
wait for FX-55 on sockel 939 ...
if you upgrade now you go for a dead product series
the first 939 boards are out now it just need AMD to release their CPU

and better wait for 64bit Software like Windows/Linux and Games that support 64bit or ur 64bit System is "useless"
i think

Thanks for the info. If I remember correctly I saw something on Tom's Hardware about AMD saying that the new FX proc's will be backward-compatible. Any word of the clock speed on the FX-55??

it won't be much higher
maybe 3400+ or 3600+ is mainly just a new stepping with revised Q'n'C and DUAL DDR for sure ... there was some benchmark .. see MP ... and even with single DDR it was as fast as a FX-53 with double cache ... and since the CPU is conected directly to RAM . it will profit much more from DUAL DDR then normal chipset based solutions

as I know FSB is still @ 200 MHz - its another technique but its also quad pumped
so 800Mhz
but the 1000 MHz is on the way so it would be quite sensefull to get 250MHz RAM oder at least 200Mhz modules
