If you have the full install of Winamp 2.81 (I dont like 3 so no idea how to do it with that)

Go into prefrences > Plug-ins > Output and click on the Disk writer plugin, click configure and choose where to save the .wav, then hit ok, make sure Disk writer is still highlighted and close prefs, then play the .voc and winamp should send the audio straight to the .wav bypassing sound system altogether.

WinAmp3 takes too long to load, and when using the smoothing ability and the CPU load is too high. Does is support converting files like Winamp2 does? Havent seen this option yet. Cry

Not on my Pc ultra LOL .... and yes havent seen "plugins Option" in winamp3. they (nullsoft) certainly have scaled down options one-by-one with each release. remember u could resize winamp and change opacity (in XP) by varying percentages (i.e:- 10%,20%,30%,... & so on); i was bamboozeled( i mean to say "loved it" ) by this one . I wonder why nobody is making noise about this.

....Wait a minute are nullsoft guys going to enable this only in paid version of winamp... :x if thats going to happen then i will be turned off from winamp3 for sure  .

Hope those options (resize and opacity) are back in next release.... for free

so I guess I was wrong, WinAMP CanDo! Didn't notice this option yet. I'm using 2.81 as well, don't need Media Library, scalability, transparency and such crap. After all Wa3 seemed to love bsod'ing a lot on my 98 SE, thus 2.81 is my choice.

Agreed, winamp3 isn't even a good app, winamp 2.X was much better. only good thing with Winamp3 is the skins.
