Same here - these updates are not available??

The only driver the WinXP Update site offers me are the Nvidia 40.72s. Which are already installed. So not only is the software unable to recognize my XP processor and Creative sound card.... It can't tell what video drivers I have installed. Go Figure!!

I guess I'll just wait a while and see if these drivers show up from some other source. But if anyone finds some other link? Please post it!!

1 thing you DONT wanna do is install the Creative Drivers from MS, they make your sound shit, and fuck up any 4.1 or 5.1 config if you got on, I experienced this, this morning

I had the same problems but got it installed. Heres how:

1. Click personalize windows update

2. Tick the display a link to windows update catalog tickbox

3. Go into Windows update catalog

4. Find driver updates for hardware devices -> other hardware

5. Select Microsoft corp in the listbox & Winxp in the os box

6. Click search - m$ processor driver is in the list

7. Once the download is done, extract the appropriate cab file (there are 2 for amd and 1 for p3 I used 2494818) and run the update hardware wizard from device manager etc.... pointing to where you just extracted.

Cheers

The date on my current AMD driver was newer than the updates.

Updates driver was dated 08/01 and my current one was dated 07/02, so I opted not to install it.

BTW- I got it following the above instructions.

open Device Manager in XP, go to Hardware and click on Processor. Click on Driver and Update. It'll get the driver from the Microsoft site. I Did mine yesterday, so I know it works...

Yes, it works... It changed my 5.1.2535.0 driver to 5.1.2600.28.
The thing I cannot understand - why does this update offers to install a previous version of amdk7.sys :o ???

updated K7 proc. driver

Hey Guest - as with everything Microsoft do, they never get it right first time!

I mean, look how many versions of Windows we've had.....
