Thank you for the previous replies to my athlon questions.
There are still some left though....
First, I have seen 3 different colors of athlon XP's.
Brown, Green and Darker Brown.
The brown seem like palomino's to me. The green seem like palominos
also. And the Darker Brown ones seem to be 2400+ and up.
But i want to know, what the green ones are. Cuz i'm not sure.
Also i've heard about AGORA, and AGOIA stepping cores or something.
What are those? Go for more info to newegg.com and read the
customer reviews on some of the thoroughbred athlon xps.
They all talk about AGORA (or something) cores.
Could you please also tell me if the following info is right.

Palomino .18micron:
1500+ till 2100+

Thoroughbred .13micron rev A:
2200+ and later now follow the 1700+ and up till 2200+

Thoroughbred .13micron rev B:
2400+ till 2800+

The lower voltage core, the cooler, ex 1800 thoroughbred is 1.5 i think, while the 2400 is 1.65.

Less heat dissipation is better, so it would be better to get
an 1800+ thoroughbred, than a 2200+ thoroughbred.

The A7V333-x would be the better mobo for the thoroughbred
1800 and 2400 for it is newer than the 333 and therefore supports more.

Ok please reply ASAP, answer the questions, and tell me whether the
statements are correct. Thanks a lot.

d00d, u have many questions to ask, but that's not a bad thing at all.

1) the colors don't make a difference, it's just that brown is ugly and green fits amd's logo better.

2) ur info seems alright

3) it is true that lower voltage relates lower heat generation. but u hafta realiaze that rev B has an additional metal layer so if the voltage drops too low, there would be instability. so if your "better" means heat generation perspective, then athlon xp 1800+ seems fine

4) yes, a7v333-x would give u a little performance boost from pc2700 ddr memory, but the fsb only runs at 133mhz (266mhz effectively). however, i do not recommend and motherboard using kt333 chipsets. the voltage is not very stable. kt400 chipsets have much cleaner voltage.

Well, actually i've got a KT333 based Mobo, and my voltage values r very stable :wink:

I see that you're AMD XP 2000+ is at 1.8 gigs. I'm assuming you overclocked it. How did you do it?
